Calico Fair 2017
For us this Calico Fair Day is especially precious. We have been three times the stewards of an ages-long tradition here at Christ Church and we are sure that we will end the day just as we have each final Fair day – exhausted but absolutely in awe of the people of Christ Church. We’ll remember this one as the one of the mysterious banner disappearance and where Capelli’s generously donated another and where we held our breaths to see if JCP&L work would cause any disruption on Kings Highway. But we’ll remember that these were but hiccups – this Christ Church family is fearless and overcomes all. At the end of the day, this day will again be an opportunity for ALL of us to come together and work together and simply be together as cherished friends – old and new.
We owe a huge debt of gratitude to so many – those who contributed our seed money, our dedicated and industrious committee chairs, a host of volunteers, contributors to Rummage and to Book Sale, to the Silent Auction, Children’s Boutique, Accessories and Holiday Shop. To the bakers, to the writers, to the creative minds and fingers – thank you, thank you, thank you.
And a special thanks from our hearts to:
We are, as always, thankful beyond words for the capacity of our Christ Church Family to always turn up, to always give more and to always lift us up. You have all been an inspiration and a great comfort to each of us.
To each or our Committee Chairs: This day would never have happened without each of you. Thank you for your willing spirit, your hard- working hands and open hearts. We are so truly blessed and more grateful than you will ever know.
With the greatest love and affection,
Lauren Badal, Erna Sottile and Betty Truscott
