    Parish secretary

    (Monday-Tuesday 10am-3PM, wednesday 10am-2pm, Friday 10am-3pm)

Linda joined the Christ Church staff in late April. She works with Christine Ruland to provide communication and organizational support for the many ministries of Christ Church.

I have been a member of Christ Church for nine years and a resident of Middletown for fourteen years. I am a Texan transplant – I grew up as a city girl “inside the loop” in Houston. I also studied history at Carleton College in Minnesota. During my junior year, I lived in San Jose, Costa Rica. After college, I lived and worked in New York for a decade. While working in a variety of different companies, from my first “real” job at Oxford University Press, to an advertising agency, to a union for doormen, to a dot.com where I did development and production work on web-sites like the historychannel.com site, I also studied graphic design at night at F.I.T. At Interactive 8, my dot.com company, I met my husband Chris, a born-and-bred Jersey boy, who hails from Franklin Township. We have been married fifteen years and have two daughters, fourteen-year old Amelia and ten-year old Lucy.

At Christ Church, I served several years on vestry, working first as the Stewardship Chair and then as the Existing Membership Chair. Five years ago, I also started Christ Church’s Facebook page. I enjoyed chronicling the life of the parish through photos on our Facebook page, but was equally happy to turn that job over to the capable Michelle Cervone when she stepped into the Communications vestry chair this winter.

As the Director of Children’s Formation, I very much enjoy leading the church school and working with our talented teachers, wonderful children, dedicated parents, and nurturing caregivers. Our church school offers an engaging mix of different curriculums. I especially love promoting and teaching our Godly Play curriculum, the program started by Jerome Berryman that is based on the Montessori method. As a child, I attended a Montessori style school for two years. I very much benefitted from this Montessori schooling experience and enjoy paying it forward to our church school children.
