Lenten alms 2026: Gifts for life
Episcopal Relief & development
This year our Lenten Alms will be donated
to Episcopal Relief & Development (ERD). ERD established in 1940, works in more than 30 countries in Africa, Asia, Latin America, the Caribbean and the Middle East, to provide humanitarian assistance. Since 2000 ERD emphasizes its disaster relief work, including in the USA and programmatic focus on integrated community development; reaching more than 2.3 million people directly through their programs.
This program approach is based on an integrated model that addresses poverty, hunger, disaster, and disease. Working with Anglican and ecumenical partners, ERD collaborates with local communities, around the world, as they find solutions to help people live healthier, more fulfilling lives. This approach is rooted in working with communities over time to leverage their own resources and expertise for sustainable growth.

GIFTS FOR LIFE - OUR LENTEN GOAL
Help us build a life-changing gift to sustain communities in need around the world; providing milk, eggs, cheese, fruit for nutrition and income plus clean water to prevent the spread of illness and disease.
GOAT Give sustainability — as goats are hardy, reproduce quickly and can be raised in many climates to produce staple items such as milk, cheese and manure for farming. ($80 per goat)
COW With a milk-producing cow, a family has a steady supply of nourishment and can sell surplus milk to better provide for themselves. ($65 per share, $630 per cow)
FLOCK OF CHICKENS Help train families and community groups to raise poultry and sell surplus stock and eggs in the marketplace. ($25 per Share, $135 per flock)
PIG Offer families financial security and access to food by training them to raise and sell pigs, which reproduce quickly and are ready for market in just six months. ($20 per share, $100 per pig)
